Frequently Asked Questions
Once your image is ready we will email you an image proof. If you think there is an issue with the image we created for you or you just want to adjust the lighting, background color, position,… you’ll just need to let us know and we will adjust the image until you are 100% satisfied and approve it.
Send us your Custom Shot inquiry here. Fill out the short questionnaire to know the approximate cost and attach your bottle 2D drawing, photographs, artwork files,… If we need more information we will contact you.
Your image proof will be emailed to you. From there you will can just let us know if you need any changes (we offer unlimited changes until you approve the image proof).
Once you approve the image, we will email you the final high res image.
Your Custom Shot will be ready within 3 business days. Once it is ready, we will send you the image proof by email and can modify/adjust it until you are 100% satisfied.
Product/bottle 2D drawing (your bottle manufacturer’s drawing would be perfect) and label artwork files (the label files your designer sent you or the files you usually send to your printer). If you don’t have the product 2D drawing, we can also accept photographs of your bottle but you also need to give us its dimensions (height and diameter).
All our Instant Shot Generator images are based on standard products/bottles so if you are using a standard product/bottle but cannot find it in our collection or if you found the product/bottle you want but cannot find the angle, lighting,… you need, send us a request via this page. If we think your request can be added to our catalog then we’ll create the requested shot for free and add it to our store. You’ll then be able to buy it from our store at the regular price and it will also become available to buy for everybody else. Otherwise, you can always order a Custom Shot.
We’re sorry to hear that but unfortunately images created using our Instant Shot Generator are not refundable except if there is a technical issue while using our tool that prevents you to download your image. Make sure you are 100% satisfied with the image you created before checking out. You can watch our tutorials to understand how the tool works and what files you need before to start (more info on that here).
Click here to access our Instant Shot Generator catalog, you can filter images by product, shape, size, color/material,… Once you selected a product/bottle shape, our Instant Shot Generator will load and you will be able to customize the bottle in seconds right in your browser.
Please note that our Instant Shot Generator tool does not allow you to modify the product/bottle shape but only add your labels and other decoration elements on it such as:
- Add your label and choose among those finishes/textures: matte or glossy.
- Add gold, metallic, UV spot, and embossed/debossed elements to your label.
- Add embossed/debossed element to the product/bottle.
- Customize the capsule with any color in those finishes: matte, glossy, gold and metallic.
- Add a logo on the capsule (regular print and metallic/gold).
- Add/remove ground shadows.
- Add/remove ground reflections.
- Change the background color or set it to transparent.
- Add/remove vignette effect.
You will be able to try and test our Instant Shot Generator before checking out so make sure you are 100% satisfied with the image you created before paying as once you pay you won’t be able to modify/adjust the image you created. We are also regularly uploading video tutorials on our blog to show you how to use our Instant Shot Generator tool.
Once you finished uploading and placing your label and decoration elements on your product/bottle, click “Download”, your browser will ask you if you would like to open or save the file “output.zip”. Select save and choose where you want to save it. After the download is complete, navigate to the ZIP file on your computer. Inside you will find your image same as your design including the scene settings you chose (background color, drop shadow, vignette effect,…) without watermarks.
Images created with our Instant Shot Generator tool are not stored on our server so make sure you keep a copy of the downloaded image as we won’t be able to retrieve it if you delete it.
Sorry, we don’t have any physical products to sell yet. We only sell digital products so you will only receive digital images with your products/labels on them.
To protect our work we added watermarks on our Instant Shot Generator but watermarks will not show on the downloaded image.
Yes! With our Instant Shot Generator, all the magic happens right inside your own computer/browser. Your labels and designs are not uploaded or stored on our servers. It means that if you accidentally delete the images you created with our Instant Shot Generator tool, we won’t be able to recover them for you.
If we think your request can be added to our catalog then we’ll create the requested shot for free and add it to our store. You’ll then be able to buy it from our store at the regular price and it’ll also become available to buy for everybody else.
Depending on the amount of requests we get, it might take up to 2 weeks for a requested shot to be added to our store once we accept the request. After submitting your request, we’ll inform you within 2 business days if your request is accepted or rejected and we’ll provide you with an estimated timeline as well as inform you once the shot is published to our store.
We need 2D drawing of the product or photographs (front, side, top and bottom view) with approximate dimensions (height, depth or diameter).
We’re sorry to hear that but unfortunately we don’t make amendments to products/shots once they are added to our catalog. Please make sure you send us as much details as possible when submitting your request otherwise you can always send us a new request or order a Custom Shot.

Note that all images we create for free will have watermarks on them and only one free Custom Shot per organization is allowed. Accounts that use a personal email address (gmail, yahoo,…), or which use an email address from an organization that has already received its free Custom Shot, will not work.
Any images with watermarks downloaded from our website or sent to you by email cannot be used in any personal or professional project.

We do not need to receive a sample of your product. We operate 100% online and you will get your product shot within 3 days. Which means that even if your product is not on the market yet we can also make your product images to help you test the market or even presell your product.
All we need is your product dimensions (for example: your bottle manufacturer’s drawing would be perfect) or photographs and your label artwork files (the files your designer sent you or the files you usually send to your printer).
No problem, we’ve been designing custom bottles for the wine and spirit industry for more than 10 years now and we have designed and modelled thousands of bottles so if we don’t already have your bottle shape in our very large collection, we can simply model it from scratch with a drawing or existing photo at no extra cost and use the 3D model to create your bottle shot.
Yes you can use images we created for your brand however you want.
You are not allowed, however, to resell or redistribute our images as new mockups or images themselves. If you are a designer, you can use our images to show how the artworks you created look like on products and distribute our images as part of the design package you sell to your clients.
Legally SmarterShots keeps the rights to the images you buy on smartershots.com and gives you a non-exclusive image usage rights. We will not distribute or sell the images we created with your branded bottles on it but we reuse the background images (Lifestyle Shots) so other clients may use the same background image as you.
Yes but even though another customer uses the same Lifestyle background as you, the image created for you will still be unique as it will feature your own product/bottle. We never had any complaints about that but keeping our customers happy is a priority for us so do not hesitate to contact us if you notice that your direct competitor is using the same background image as you and we will find a solution to solve this.

Then, you can either go ahead and use our Instant Shot Generator to create your shot or if you want to use that bottle on a Lifestyle Shot, just upload that bottle picture when you order your Custom Shot.
All our Custom Shots are fully refundable until you review and approve the product image preview (or proof). Please note that if you are not satisfied with the image preview for any reasons, we can offer unlimited modifications until you are 100% satisfied. Once approved, no refund or modifications will be allowed.

Placing a product/bottle on a background image is not easy and require a lot of hours to get the perfect lighting, shadows, reflections,… we prefer to buy or shoot environment backgrounds ourselves, or completely make the background in CGI.
You can always send us a request via this page and attach a photograph of the background you want as reference and we will try our best to find or shoot a similar background/environment. If we think your request can be added to our catalog then we’ll create the requested shot for free and add it to our store. You’ll then be able to buy it from our store at the regular price and it will also become available to buy for everybody else. Or you can place a Custom Shot order.
We can resize images in the sizes of your choice. You can also mention the sizes you need when you place your order or once you receive the image proof.
That’s not a problem at all, you can specify all that in the form when placing your order, you can also upload any drawings, sketches, images,… to show that and we’ll just custom make all those elements at no extra cost.
